Watch: Why the way we share our children has to change
Digital Dignity gives parents and creators a simple, step-by-step system for deciding what stays private, cleaning up what's already online, and making safer sharing your default going forward.
Keep the memories. Keep the joy. Remove the unnecessary risks.
Hey - I'm Melissa, founder of The Unapologetic Mother.
Having my daughter absolutely changed how I saw the world. To be honest, before I had her, I was still uncertain about whether I'd be sharing her publicly.
But after she was born, my eyes were opened to a whole new world I honestly never knew existed - the very dark underbelly of the web and social media.
I became a mum and suddenly it wasn't only my privacy anymore. It was hers.
Today I'm on a mission to keep as many children safe online as possible, and that starts with us as parents doing our part to become educated.
I created Digital Dignity because I realised I couldn't possibly be the only mother asking: "How do I share this beautiful life without oversharing a childhood that isn't mine to give away?"
I'm so grateful you are here. Thank you for being part of this mission.
Here's to keeping our babies safe and their childhoods protected.

AI has changed what can be done with an ordinary photo.
In 2026, the UK's National Crime Agency and Internet Watch Foundation warned parents that offenders are exploiting openly available images of children to create realistic AI-generated sexual abuse material. The IWF identified 3,440 AI-generated child sexual abuse videos in 2025, compared with just 13 in 2024.

50% of children’s photos and videos shared on paedo-criminal forums have been initially published online by their own parents

You don't need more fear. You need a framework.
Where accidental exposure happens
Three kinds of information that quietly build up across an ordinary family feed.
Names, birthdays, school logos, certificates and clear facial images can collectively reveal far more about a child than one post appears to.
School runs, sports clubs, tagged locations and repeated posting patterns can reveal where your family goes and when.
Every post contributes to an online history your child may one day inherit, including moments they never chose to make public.
Your Share-Safe Policy created. Your highest-risk posts reviewed. Your privacy settings tightened. And a simple posting system you can use from that day forward.
Plus, a shareable resource section available to anyone in your life who you'd like to share deeper education with, when it comes to safety and posting children online.
"Only 20 images of a child are needed to create a deepfake video of them, and parents upload an average of 63 images to social media every month."

It's learning how to keep documenting your life, building your brand and sharing the moments you love without unnecessarily sharing your child's identity, location, routines or private moments along with them.
There is a middle ground between sharing everything and sharing nothing.
Digital Dignity teaches you how to find it.
No new apps. No complicated tech. No deleting your entire online life.
Built for busy parents who need practical, not scary.
Yes. A private account limits who sees a post, not what happens to it next. Followers can screenshot and reshare, friends and family post your child on their own accounts, and older posts and tagged photos often stay public. Most of what you'll do in Digital Dignity applies whatever your settings are.
This is for any parent wanting to share their child on social media, in any capacity. Both for private accounts and public accounts.
